Gwen Mdinaradze, BBA, ALM
Gwen Mdinaradze is an entrepreneur, guest lecturer, and doctoral researcher at the University of Pennsylvania. Her work explores how organizational learning and culture shape strategic decisions, contribute to competitive advantage, and prepare organizations for a rapidly changing future. She is the founder and CEO of EdBridge, an organizational development firm that serves as an external learning leadership team. Its faculty and practitioners conduct organizational assessments, analyze data, and develop leaders through executive education, facilitated discussions, and applied learning. By examining how people experience their work alongside business priorities, EdBridge identifies where leadership, culture, and capability gaps affect performance and designs learning programs to address them. Gwen’s approach connects research with leadership practice, helping organizations turn what they learn into changes in how they decide and operate. At Penn, her doctoral research examines how organizational learning opportunities shape senior leaders’ strategic decision-making in ways they perceive as contributing to competitive advantage. This inquiry informs her work on the Learning Economy, where organizations’ ability to learn and adapt becomes central to their future. She developed the LEARN Framework—Listen, Examine, Activate, Reconfigure, and Navigate—to connect learning with organizational action. She is developing her forthcoming book, The Learning Economy. Gwen holds a master’s degree in Industrial-Organizational Psychology from Harvard University and contributes to Forbes through the Forbes Coaches Council. She is coauthoring a book with Penn professor Dr. Sharon Ravitch exploring the cultural gap between leaders’ intentions and employees’ lived experiences. Her writing makes research accessible to leaders responsible for change. A first-generation graduate student, immigrant, and mother of three, Gwen brings an understanding of starting over and navigating unfamiliar systems. Across her scholarship and professional work, she helps leaders recognize the knowledge within their organizations, translate learning into strategic decisions, and build the capabilities needed to compete as technology, markets, and expectations change.

Dr. Phillip Ellis
Most organizations say they want leaders who can adapt amid uncertainty. Phillip Ellis actually knows how. For over two decades, he’s designed collaborations across disciplines, bringing stakeholders with competing incentives to the table to navigate problems no single perspective can solve. His work on systems of knowing has been featured by Brookings and New America, shaping how leaders think about what happens when different ways of knowing collide. Here’s the uncomfortable truth at the center of his work: the unconscious agreements you inherited are running the show. Most leaders have never examined them. Phillip has spent his career helping them start. He’s an adviser and Lecturer at Penn’s Executive Doctorate in Chief Learning Officer program, where he teaches senior leaders to rethink how organizations actually learn. His chapter in Leaders as Architects of Change, recently published by Routledge, distills that lesson into a framework leaders can use right now. Phillip holds an Ed.D. from the University of Pennsylvania, where his dissertation examined how epistemic thinking shapes a team’s capacity to collaborate on wicked problems. His next book, The Seeing Gap, co-written with Penn’s Dr. Sharon Ravitch, turns that lens on AI. Phillip and Sharon are writing it in the open on Substack, inviting readers to help shape it as it takes form. When he’s not writing or teaching, he’s on stages and in rooms with leadership teams, designing communities and immersive workshops that help organizations stop talking about adaptability and start practicing it.
